Raftery ready to rally again in Junior ERC

Aoife Raftery is all set for her third FIA Junior ERC Championship campaign and her first with former title-winning outfit hrtracing.

A points scorer during her first two seasons in the Hankook-equipped category, Raftery will compete in a Peugeot 208 Rally4 alongside fellow Irishwoman Hannah McKillop as she aims to make more progress.

The target, as always, is to be on the podium and have good results,” said the 24-year-old. “Hrt won Junior ERC in 2023, and I will use their experience and advice to have good results in each rally, improve our pace and become a better driver with a good team around me. I have seen the drivers that they have worked with in the past. I was impressed with [team principal] Attila Nagy’s approach and hrt’s approach to the European Rally Championship and rallying in general and how professional they come across.

Hungary-based hrtracing guided Norbert Maior to Junior ERC title gold in 2023. Nagy said: “We are very happy, very excited, and we will do our best to let Aoife and Hannah do their best. Our mechanics are very into this season.”

The 42nd Rally Sierra Morena – Córdoba Patrimonio de la Humanidad opens the 2024 ERC season from 3 – 6 April.
